Forces on alert in Pathankot, Gurdaspur as intelligence says four terrorists have intruded

The security agencies in Punjab have been warned again of a terror attack in the twin border towns of Pathankot and Gurdaspur by intelligence agencies, who believe four terrorists have crossed the international border with Pakistan from the Bamial sector.

Sensing the gravity, the Border Security Force (BSF) has parked an additional battalion in Pathankot district, whereas security by the army and air force have been enhanced too, it is learnt. Pathankot senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vivek Sheel Soni confirmed the input and said his force is ready to deal with any threat. Gurdaspur SSP BS Virk said bulletproof tractors and other modern equipment are being deployed near the border “to thwart any dare of the enemy”.
