Ldh immolation: Key witness lands in police net

The police on Tuesday got a major breakthrough in the case of immolation of the 16-year-old girl by apprehending key witness Sultan alias Munavvar from Delhi.

The police on Tuesday got a major breakthrough in the case of immolation of the 16-year-old girl by apprehending key witness Sultan alias Munavvar from Delhi.

Sultan was regularly in touch with the victim before her death, even during her alleged abduction period from October 25 to 27. The police is questioning Sultan and expect important information from him about the abduction.

The police have found that the victim was in touch with Sultan over phone, even on December 4, when she was allegedly set on fire.

He was about to escape from Delhi when the police nabbed him. The Ludhiana police had formed separate parties to nab him and were conducting raids in Bihar and Delhi.

Sultan hails from Bihar and the girl allegedly went to meet him on October 25 the day she went missing and returned on October 29. The family later registered an FIR of kidnapping and attempt to rape.

Sultan was also in touch with Abid who was nabbed by Ludhiana police on December 20. Abid had revealed the whereabouts of Sultan.

The police have got important clues from Sultan and Abid. Rupinder Kaur, assistant commissioner of police, Ludhiana south, said the police would provide the details after the investigation.

In the FIR lodged on October 29, the victim had alleged abduction and attempt to rape against four boys of the area.

The girl,in her statement, had claimed that the four had abducted her on October 25 and had held her captive at an unidentified place till October 27.
