The Haryana government on Tuesday told the Punjab and Haryana high court that it did not find any proof of arms training and possession of illegal arms at Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s Dera Sacha Sauda.
The government filed an affidavit on Tuesday, submitting that a government-formed committee, headed by the Sirsa deputy commissioner, carried out inspections twice after the high court order in December last year. However, it could not find any proof of possession of illegal arms at the dera by followers and training sessions or other such camps at the dera or its branches. The government has told the HC that it would keep a strict vigil on the dera in future for any such activity.
The government affidavit came on the high court notice for the same, wherein the government was asked to file status report on the activities of various deras in the state.
The notices had also been issued to Punjab, Chandigarh and Ram Rahim, but they were given more time on Tuesday to file their replies by the next date of hearing, March 13.
The notices were issued on suo motu proceedings initiated by the HC following intelligence inputs of arms training by ex-servicemen at the dera reported to the court during the hearing of a contempt petition against Satlok Ashram head Rampal in December 2014.
