A 60-year-old woman died and four members of her family sustained serious injuries as roofs of two dilapidated rooms in Gandhi Camp locality collapsed on Saturday around 6 am.

The deceased has been identified as Raj Rani. Her son Chander Parkash, his wife Mamta, daughters Ritika and Harman alias Honey were injured.
It had been raining incessantly in the city on Thursday night and the condition of rooms was too bad, the residents said. As per residents, on hearing a loud thud in the morning, they reached the spot and started rescue work.
They added that Raj Rani was trapped under the debris. The rescuers said she was badly injured and later succumbed. Chander Parkash, his wife Mamta, daughters Ritika and Harman were also rushed to the civil hospital. Their condition was said to be stable.
