Tanwar said this in a press interaction in Rohtak at the resident of former home minister Subhash Batra on Saturday.

Responding to a media query, former Congress MP from Sirsa said: "The first Congress led government tenure was made possible in 2004 under the leadership of its president Sonia Gandhi, while the second consecutive tenure could be possible by Rahul Gandhi".

Taking a swipe at ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, the senior Congress leader said that the brand image created by Modi to be pro-common man has taken a serious beating, after it failed utterly on all fronts and electorate has started realizing its mistake in voting them.

"Scores of farmers in Haryana are languishing in jail for raising their voice in support of implementing MS Swaminathan commission report, a promise made by Modi government in their poll speeches and manifesto", he said.
