The protest by 2010batch inspectors of Union of District Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs entered fifth day in Zone D office of the muncipal corporation on Thursday.

The employees were protesting against the termination of two inspectors from Macchiwara who were given clean chit during the investigation by the central vigilance committee (CVC).

The strike was observed in all districts of Punjab. Union president Saravdeep Singh Bedi said, "We will continue the strike as the department has failed to reinstate the officials."
