With two days left for the counting of votes, politicians have thronged holy places and in this spree, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday visited Kiratpur Sahib gurdwara and paid obeisance at Gurdwara Kalyan in Patiala and other religious places in Ludhiana.
Talking to mediapersons here, Sukhbir claimed to form the government for the third time. “The SAD-BJP will win more than 72 seats. I am confident of poll results in favour of the SAD and praying to the Almighty for blessing, as I believe nothing is possible without the blessings of God,” he said.
Sukhbir further said that “On March 11— the counting day, the AAP will be restricted to 11 seats, while the Congress will do a bit better than the AAP, but no one will reach even near the tally of SAD. I am 100% sure of victory”.
When asked about the Dera Sacha Sauda controversy, Sukhbir tried to evade the issue by saying, “It’s a religious matter and already the Sri Akal Takht is seized of the matter. The SGPC and Sri Akal Takht will take the decision on this religious matter,” he said.
Earlier, Sukhbir also met the candidates of Patiala at Nabha, where cabinet minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, SAD candidate from Dhuri, Hari Singh, Nabha candidate Kabir Dass, and others were present.
