The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) started supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) on Tuesday. It is being carried out under restructured accelerated power development and reforms programmes (RAPDRP) in Jalandhar circle.
The project was inaugurated in the city by Surinder Pall, director commercial, PSPCL. The PSPCL has for now only integrated Chugitti substation on trial basis.
PSPCL officials said that by the end of March next year, office will upgrade all the sub-stations under the project.
The unit for the project has been build near PSPCL rest house on Ladhewali road. SCADA is being carried out under RAPDRP in Amritsar and Ludhiana besides Jalandhar.

{{/usCountry}}Officials said that the all the substations are being upgraded for making them compatible with the project.
Under SCADA, the PSPCL is integrating its system for keeping a tab on power transmission right from the energy generating source till its transmission to the consumers.The PSPCL will be taking help of geographical index survey (GIS) that has already been carried out by department for allowing, monitoring and reporting the power transmission from the single integrated unit.Assuring uninterrupted power supply for the consumers, the power corporation has also installed ring main units (RMU) at around 30 major points of Jalandhar city.
