Suicide victim's kin raises question on police action

The family of Kewal Sahini, who committed suicide on November 4 by jumping before a train, has been requesting the railway police to make public the forensic report of the suicide note which was left by the victim. But the cops are reluctant to disclose the report and say that investigation is under process.

The victim's kin say that the police are working under the influence of Basant Avenue owner Vijay Kumar and his two sons- Dinesh Garg and Amit Garg, who have been booked for abetment to suicide.

When contacted, railway police station house officer, Inspector Inderjeet Singh said that he can't comment as the case is being investigated by sub-divisional Inspector Murlidhar. Murlidhar says the forensic report of the suicide note has been received but he can't disclose the details as the case is being investigated. The police will disclose the matter after completing the investigation, he said.

The deceased's son, Nivesh Sahni, said that despite recovering suicide note from the spot, the police had registered a case of abetment to suicide against the accused after around one week. “The police delayed the arrest and the accused managed to get marked an inquiry in the case,” said Nivesh.
