The tremors of the storm in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tea cup at the national level are now being felt in Dhanbad and Giridih party units too.
Several party workers owing allegiance to their respective disgruntled masters are causing trouble for the official contestants in the two constituencies of the coal-steel-mica belt. They are passive in their support and party campaigns which has become the cause of concern for the contestants, whose major focus now is to keep their house in order till hustings.
Pashupati Nath Singh and Ravindra Pandey, who are BJP candidates from Dhanbad and Giridih respectively are finding it tough this time in view of the internal fighting among the district unit office-bearers in both these constituencies.
However, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and other saffron brigades have fanned across both the parliamentary constituencies to realise the ‘mission-272’ of the party. But the big question is -can this be achieved without an active participation from the office-bearers?
Senior party leader Raj Sinha, who contested the last assembly election from Dhanbad and had lost to Congress candidate Mannan Mallik by marginal votes, feels himself sidelined as his rival in the party Sateyndra Kumar Singh has been made convener of the 51-member Lok Sabha Chunao Sanchalan Samiti. Sinha, a formidable force of the BJP across the coal belt seems to be quite passive this time. However, Sinha dismisses this.
Besides the BJP MLA from the Jharia assembly segment too seems reluctant this time as her own brother-in-law Ramadhir Singh is in the fray on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket. Not only this former union minister Rita Verma who had staked her claim for the seat is too seen nowhere in the campaigning. And with the absence of the senior leaders from the scene are enough to rob the sleep P N Singh in Dhanbad, according to the party insiders.

Pandey claimed that his house was in order in Giridih, but the party insiders revealed several of the saffron brigades are busy in digging out his electoral grave.
