Pawan Kalyan attended the audio launch of Agnyaathavaasi in Hyderabad and charmed fans with an emotional, no nonsense speech Tuesday evening.

He began by thanking everyone for giving him the love and affection he has earned through cinema over the years He also apologised to all those fans who couldn’t be accommodated at the venue.

“I know a lot of you are standing outside and are hoping to get in. I would like to apologise to each and every one of you. Due to space constraint, we could only accommodate certain number of people. To all my fans, please know that you have bigger place in my heart,” Pawan Kalyan said, and added that he never thought he’d earn so much love and affection from his fans. “For the longest time, I’ve wanted to do something good and give back to the society. I believe I’m able to achieve that through cinema and politics. When I started my career, I told my family I’d do 10-12 films and then quit. Post the success of Kushi, I thought I’ll do five more films and bid adieu to cinema because I wanted to serve our nation. But the love of my fans made me do 25 films.” Directed by Trivikram, Agnyaathavaasi is Kalyan’s 25th film.

Talking about his relationship with Trivikram, Kalyan said the former stood by him even during trying times. “People stand by you in success but nobody wants to extend support in failure . Trivikram stood by me in return for nothing. It’s our love and respect for cinema that brought us together.”

Pawan Kalyan also clarified that he has taken the political plunge only to serve the country. “My aim is to serve for this nation while I’m physically fit and strong. As much as I have done for my fans through cinema, I’d like do the same via politics for my nation,” he said.

The film, gearing for January 10 release next year, has music by Anirudh Ravichander and marks his foray into Telugu filmdom. “I’ve danced to his hit number Kolaveri when I’m alone. After Michael Jackson, I look up to Anirudh’s music,” Kalyan said.

Kalyan barely spoke about the film. “I never ask my fans to support my films because I know they’ll own a film if they love it. Trivikram has made the film in a way it’ll be loved by all.”

Speaking on the occasion, director Trivikram said that audiences will get to see Pawan Kalyan in a different avatar in the film. “I narrated the story to Pawan Kalyan in just two minutes over a call. He was in Italy and he immediately gave his nod. From that day till today, he hasn’t asked me a single question. He did everything I asked him to do. I don’t have to tell you how much I enjoy working with him or about our relationship because we don’t have express how much we love our dear ones. Do we express how much we love our mothers or friends?” he said.

The film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel as the leading ladies. Keerthy said she was honoured to be part of this project. “Trivikram is one of the coolest directors I’ve worked with. It was an honour to work with him. The Trivikram-Pawan Kalyan combo is just magical.”
