Actor Bhushan Pradhan received great feedback for his role in Pratima Joshi’s Aamhi Doghi and his work in Chandrakant Kulkarni’s Hamlet. The Coffee Ani Barach Kahi (2015) actor is now seen in Milind Shinde’s Re Raya, where he plays an athletics coach. A fitness freak himself, Bhushan had to undergo a diet and exercise regimen change to play the part. Bhushan says, “I have always been a fitness freak but I was never a sports enthusiast. I had a terrible bout of jaundice when I was young and that kept me away from sports which continued for a long time. Also, my passion for dramatics never took me to the sports ground (laughs).”

Talking about the preparation, Bhushan says, “I had to change my diet and fitness regimen for this film. I am playing an athlete who becomes a coach, specifically a runner. So, my legs have to look a certain way and my body too. I am glad people have noticed this change and appreciated it.”

The actor has been exploring theatre for a while now. He adds that theatre has opened a completely new dimension to his perspective of acting. Bhushan adds, “Theatre has taught me a lot. Actually, Aamhi Doghi and Hamlet are two projects this year that helped me enhance my acting capabilities. Today, when I look back at my previous work I immediately notice nuances which could have been portrayed differently. Now, I know where I need to pull up my socks and work harder.”
