"I can't watch Marathi film in the absence of sub-titles. I don't want to waste time watching a film I don't understand. I must say I am guilty of not watching non-Bollywood Indian films," director Zoya Akhtar said during a 'knowledge session' at Film Bazaar of IFFI today.

Actor Abhay Deol, who has made a name for himself with films like Dev D and Road Movie, said, "I don't watch Punjabi movies. My Punjabi is also not that good."

Deol, who has worked with Akhtar in her film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, said that the sub-titling could help fetch more audience to regional cinema.

Kalki Koechlin, Indian actor with French descent, however, said that Anurag Kashyap (her husband) drags her to see Marathi films.

The issue of new generation filmmakers watching regional films was raised during the Knowledge Session by one of the audience.

IFFI 2011 is being held in Goa from November 23 to December 3 in which 350 films are screened. Film Bazaar is the concept by National Films Division Corporation (NFDC), which is a business to business platform for the filmmakers and buyers.
