Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi has won big at the box office on its opening day; the film has made ₹59 crore in worldwide collections.

Actor Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi has struck gold at the box office with the highest opening day (gross) of 59 crore worldwide, according to trade analyst Trinath. Maharshi has registered career best opening-day numbers for Mahesh Babu, who has teamed up with director Vamshi Paidipally for the first time. Before Maharshi, the actor’s best opening-day figure was for Bharat Ane Nenu ( 54 crore).

In Andhra and Telangana, the film collected an opening day share of 24.6 crore.

Nizam - 6.38 crore
Ceded Districts - 2.89 crore
UA - 2.88 crore
East - 3.2 crore
West - 2.46 crore
Krishna - 1.39 crore
Guntur - 4.4 crore
Nellore - 1 crore

The film, which has already done pre-release business over 150 crore, also stars Pooja Hegde, Allari Naresh and Jagapathi Babu in crucial roles. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film is centered on a self-made billionaire Rishi (Mahesh Babu), who goes on a transformative journey when he learns about what happened to his best friend from college.
