Mani Ratnam, actor Karthi to team up soon

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is likely work with actor Karthi in a yet untitled Tamil project. While Mani Ratnam has just delivered a monstrous hit with O Kadhal Kanmani, Karthi's Madras was one of the biggest hits of 2014.

"Karthi has expressed his interest to be part of the project, but he's yet to sign on the dotted line. The official announcement is expected to come soon," said a source close to Karthi.

Reportedly, the project would be a bilingual and will be made in Malayalam with Mammootty.

Karthi started his career in cinema as an assistant to Ratnam on his 2004 Tamil-Hindi thriller Aayutha Ezhuthu. Although he was offered to act in this project, he chose to work in the direction department.

This project will have music by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.
