The trailer of Suriya’s upcoming Tamil film NGK was released on Monday night and going by the visuals, it promises to be a no-holds-barred political thriller. Directed by Selvaraghavan, the trailer shows the rise of Suriya, who plays a character called Nandha Gopala Kumaran or otherwise known as NGK in politics.
Some shots and dialogues of the trailer indicate that Selvaraghavan has taken a deep plunge into the murky world of politics. The trailer also promises plenty of action and we also get fleeting shots of Sai Pallavi, who appears to be playing an important character.
When the project was first announced, it was supposed to hit the screens last Diwali along with Vijay’s Sarkar. However, the film had to miss Diwali release after Selvaraghavan fell ill and the shoot had to be stalled for a couple of weeks. The shoot was finally wrapped up earlier this year. NGK is gearing up for release on May 31.
Produced by SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Jagapathi Babu and Bala Singh among others. The film marks the first time collaboration of Suriya and Selvaraghavan. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music.
Suriya is on the verge of wrapping up KV Anand’s Kaappaan, in which he plays a bodyguard. He has simultaneously begun work on Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru, a biopic on the life of Captain GR Gopinath of Air Deccan.
