Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi is struggling to stay afloat at the box-office. Despite taking a terrific opening worldwide at the box-office on the first day, the film struggled to maintain its momentum after being heavily panned by critics and general audiences alike. However, actress Khushbu was lauded for her work in the film. Making a comeback to Telugu filmdom after a decade, she played Pawan Kalyan’s step mother in the film. Her role was very well received by one and all.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Khushbu opened up about her role in the Trivikram directed film. “After 10 years to do a film in Telugu it had to be a special one. Agnyaathavaasi is that special one. The entire setup was very appealing and eventually rewarding. Pawan and the crew treated me like a member of their family. Trivikram had offered me films earlier. But I was not very keen then as I did not like the roles. This time he came to me and said, ‘Ma’am, you cannot say no to this.’ And I didn’t say no. How could I? He made an offer I couldn’t resist.”
After the debacle of Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Katamarayudu, Pawan Kalyan pinned high hopes on this project as he was on the brink of bidding adieu to acting, hoping this film would turn out to be a blockbuster. Produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel, who have teamed up for the first time with Pawan Kalyan.
