Watch the first trailer of Sivakarthikeyan’s new film, Seema Raja, here.

The first trailer for Seema Raja, actor Sivakarthikeyan’s return to a genre that he is most comfortable with, a mixture of action and romantic comedy, has been released. The actor is reuniting with Ponram, the director who worked with him on Varutha Padathe Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan.

Seema Raja is Sivakarthikeyan’s return to his favourite genre.

The trailer features Siva as Raja, a man who rules his town with charm and class. He plays kabaddi, has a Twitter account and wants to be visible on social media; he travels only in chariots pulled by horses and is supported throughout by his friend, a character portrayed by Soori. Samantha Akkineni plays the role of a silambam teacher in the film. While it would be great to see her spin the stick, her character’s attitude is explained in just one shot where she is seen raising her voice as she stands toe to toe with Siva. She is no damsel in distress.

The film also stars Simran, who plays a negative role. Her character has the potential to turn into the highlight of the film. Another actor whose return to the big screen is much awaited is Napoleon. The actor is seen siding with the villains in this film.

Seema Raja is produced by 24am Studios and is slated to release on September 13 on the occasion of Vinayaka Chathurthi. On the same day, Samantha’s other film, U-Turn, is also slated to release.
