Seema Raja is Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film after the successful Velaikkaran. After playing an earnest social influencer, he is back to the genre that he is most comfortable with - action comedies set in rural regions of Tamil Nadu. Seema Raja teaser, which was released along with the audio of the film on Friday, features Sivakarthikeyan as the rich and modern man in town. He loves racing carts pulled by horses just as much as he loves getting likes and shares on social media.
Sivakarthikeyan is the ‘pattathu raja’ of Nellaimeen (the prince of a town), who travels in helicopters and has money to spare. The teaser also introduces us to Simran who plays the role of an antagonist in the film. She speaks with an accent that is prevalent in south Tamil Nadu and tells Sivakarthikeyan, “You need to cook chicken broth in nice sesame oil and eat, so that you have the strength to be beaten up.”
Sivakarthikeyan, on the other hand, does everything from twirling his moustache, beating up the bad guys to making stylish entries and exits, which highlights his larger than life charisma on screen. Soori will play Siva’s best friend in the film and their comedy is another thing to expect in this film.
Samantha Akkineni plays a girl from the town, who is not aware of Raja’s (Siva) existence and his background. Feted and celebrated elsewhere, Raja gets a “Where are you from?” from Samantha’s character. She plays the role of a Silambam teacher in the film.
Seema Raja is directed by Ponram and produced by 24 AM Studios. The film also stars Napoleon, Lal and Manobala in pivotal roles. Keerthy Suresh is also expected to make a cameo in the film slated to release on September 13.
