Singer Manjusha Mohandas, who rose to fame as a contestant on Idea Star Singer in 2009, passed away on August 2 at a private hospital in Cochin; she was 27. She succumbed to the injuries she received after a road accident. According to a report in DNA, the singer was travelling with her friend on a moped when a driver of a minivan crashed into them. The minivan was reportedly on the wrong side of the road.
The accident occurred on July 27 on MC Road in Thanipuzha, Angamaly. She was admitted to a private hospital in Angamaly, but her condition was critical. Manjusha was later shifted to a hospital in Kochi, where she passed away on August 2.
Manjusha was pursuing her masters degree in Sankrit at the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit in Kalady. She is survived by her husband Priyadarshan and a daughter.
Not only her singing, Manjusha’s wedding video had also gone viral on social media. She participated in the show broadcast by Asianet and became popular.
