With just three days left for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to file a compliance report regarding step-by-step implementations of the Lodha Committee reforms, the Indian cricket board has set an all-powerful working committee meeting on Monday in New Delhi to discuss details at length.
The Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Committee has set September 30 and October 15 deadlines for implementations of various recommendations. A compliance report of the steps taken towards the implementation has to be submitted to the three-member Lodha Committee on August 25. The BCCI, meanwhile, has already filed a review petition of the Supreme Court’s July 18 order.
Apart from the discussion on the BCCI’s battle with the Supreme Court, the state associations will also seek clarity on the Ranji Trophy schedule which is likely to start in October second week.
Since all Ranji Trophy matches will be held at neutral venues this time, the state associations are still in a limbo over planning their itineraries, which will be a challenging task.
“Generally, by now all hotel bookings and air tickets are processed to get a better deal. The associations would want to know the reason for delay in the schedule,” a Board member told HT.

{{/usCountry}}The associations are also hoping to get some clarity on the participation of combined teams from the North East and Union territories for the upcoming season. BCCI president Anurag Thakur had emphatically announced in June of forming a combined North East team that will play in the BCCI tournaments.
