CWG 2022, Day 4 Highlights: India continued their rich medal haul at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, however, no gold medal was secured on Day 4. Judoka Sushila Devi opened the account on Day 4 after clincing a silver medal in the women's 48kg finals. Soon after her feat, judoka Vijay Yadav secured a bronze medal in the men's 60kg division. The final medal of the day was won by weightlifter Harjinder Kaur, who secured bronze in the women's 71kg finals. Those were the three medals won by India on Day 4 as the tally rises to nine (G-3, S-3, B-3). India also enjoyed an splendid outing in almost all the racket sport. The shuttlers advanced to the finals of the mixed-team event, which saw both PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen win their respective single matches. The men's table-tennis team defeated Nigeria to book a berth in the finals, where they will meet Singapore in the gold medal match. Saurav Ghosal advanced to the semifinals of the men's singles squash event.   CWG 2022 LIVE updates: India men's TT team reach finals

  The men's table-tennis semi-finals are still on and India currently have a 2-0 lead over their opposition Nigeria. 

  The pair of G Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai won the first match, Sharath Kamal won the second. 

  The third is also a single's clash between Sathiyan and Omotayo. Sathiyan had won the opening game 11-8. His opponent bounced back in the second winning it 11-4. The third was won by the Indian, who closed it 11-6 and secures a 11-8 win in the fourth game. 

  With this, India advance to the finals of the men's table tennis event. They beat Nigeria 3-0.

  India beat Singapore 3-0 to advance to the final of the mixed team badminton. They are now assured of at least a silver but try telling that to the Indian team. They will certainly go for gold on August 2.

  India had taken a 2-0 lead, with the pair of Satwik and Chirag winning the opening match, followed by a resounding win by PV Sindhu. 

  Lakshya Sen then wrapped up the proceedings by defeating Loh Kean Yew in the third match. The shuttler prevailed in straight games (21-18, 21-15).

  Suchika Tariyal is penalised earl in her bronze medal match in women's 57kg bronze medal match against Mauritius' Christianne Legentil. 

  Her opponent too gets a Shido as we move midway into the contest. 

  Both the judokas are battling at the edge, with both looking for opportunity to their opponent down. Meanwhile, the good news is Legentil has got another Shido. 

  The Indian gains momentum right at the closing stage as she first gets her opponent down but Legentil bounces back in the final 10 seconds to eventually close the contest with a win.

  A superb show by both Lakshya Sen and Loh Kean Yew in men's single match of the mixed team semifinals. The Singapore shuttler starts off by taking a 4-0 lead, but Laksya fights back and goes into the mid-game break with one-point lead. 

  He ultimately closes the game 21-18. India is one game away from booking a spot in the final.

  India take a 2-0 lead in the mixed team event semi-final against Singapore as PV Sindhu make light work of Jia Min Yeo, beating her in straight games (21-12, 21-11). India are now a win away from storming into the finals and assuring yet another medal in badminton.

  We are up for another bronze medal match as Jasleen Saini will take on Australia's Nathan Katz in men's 66kg judo. 

  The Indian starts with an attacking approach, trying to get a firm grip on his opponent but is unable too. 

  Meanwhile, Katz also gets a Shido, following which he tries to get himself back in the contest and has been putting a good show. 

  As the action proceeds, Katz gets a second Shido and he now needs to be careful.

  But as we move towards the closing stage, with six seconds remaining in the four-minute contest, Katz throws down Jasleen to secure an Ippon. With this he wins the bronze medal and tough luck for the Indian, who returns empty handed.

  PV Sindhu takes the first game in the second match of the mixed team event. It wasn't the cakewalk as was expected for the Indian ace. The Singapore shuttler Jia Min Yeo gave the Indian former world champion and two-time Olympic medallist a fair bit of workout but Sindhu warmed up after the first break and took the game. 

  Good sign for India as they are already 1-0 up in the mixed-team semis against Singapore.

  Shushila Devi tries to find a firm grip on her opponent Michaela Whitebooi, but a smart counter sends the Indian down on the mat. Whitebooi takes advantage and keeps Devi down with an arm lock. 

  Devi then shows good comeback. She also tries to topple Whitebooi on the mat with a technical move but the latter quickly recovers and avoids it. 

  With things on level terms, the action moves to golden score and Whitebooi seals the gold medal by forcing Devi on the mat. It was a strong grip by Whitebooi and Devi crashes on the mat while trying to get out of it. The South African judoka gets the advantage and she capitalises on it and wins the gold medal. 

  Shushila Devi's valiant effort will get her a silver medal in the women's 47kg judo at CWG 2022.
