West Bromwich Albion is the first team to be relegated from this season's Premier League after losing 2-0 to Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard punished a blunder by Albion defender Shelton Martis to give Liverpool a 28th minute lead at the Hawthorns on Sunday and set up Dirk Kuyt for the second in the 63rd. West Brom was promoted last season as winner of the League Championship but this is its third relegation in seven seasons.
