An auto driver was killed and 10 injured as a Porsche car crashed into parked autos after ramming a divider at Dr Radhakrishnan Salai in Chennai on Monday morning. One of the injured is critical.

Police said the driver of the out-of-control vehicle, V Vikas, son of Supreme Court lawyer Vijay Anand, was returning home with a friend after consuming alcohol at a party hosted by Tuti Patriots, who won the Tamil Nadu Premier League final on Sunday night.
Vikas and his friend were unharmed as the airbags deployed, and have been arrested.
After hitting the divider, the car crashed into several parked autos, injuring their drivers, who were sleeping on the road.
Auto drivers Arumugam and Varadhan suffered serious injuries, and were moved to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, where Arumugam succumbed while Varadhan is critical. The other injured underwent treatment at Royapettah Government Hospital.

In another drink driving incident in July this year, a woman driver of an Audi car killed a 45-year-old man while speeding on the OMR in Chennai.
