Defending champion Gaston Gaudio was handed a place in the third round of the French Open on Wednesday when his scheduled opponent Dmitry Tursunov withdrew with an injured left knee.
Gaudio, the fifth seed Argentinian, will face either Czech 26th seed Jiri Novak or Spain's Felix Mantilla for a place in the fourth round.
