World No. 8 Belinda Bencic ruled out of French Open 2016 due to injury

Paris, May 17, 2016 (AFP) - World number eight Belinda Bencic of Switzerland has been ruled out injured of the French Open at Roland Garros, tournament organisers announced on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old has back problems and has not played since the claycourt Charleston tournament in April, where she fell 6-1, 6-1 in the second round to Russian Elena Vesnina.

She will be replaced by American Lauren Davis, ranked 115th in the world, in the draw for the second Grand Slam tournament of the season from May 22 to June 5 in Paris.
