Sachin Waze moves NIA court seeking home food in prison

Waze moved a plea because of his diabetic condition after which the court asked the prosecution and the prison authorities to respond to his plea and posted it for another hearing on Wednesday.

“The high level of diabetes has now affected the eyes of the Applicant wherein he is at a high risk of losing his vision due to glaucoma. Thus, a course of injections was administered in one of his eyes to prevent further deterioration,” Waze has stated in his application. Besides, he said that during his last visit to an ophthalmologist, an eye specialist, on April 13, the doctors asked the prison authority to give him a strict diabetic diet and medicines without fail. Dismissed cop Kazi part of Antilia breach conspiracy: Court

Dismissed cop Riyazuddin Kazi aided and abetted Sachin Vaze, prime accused in Antilia explosive scare, in collecting evidence with intent to destroy it, a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court has observed.

The NIA arrested Vaze on March 9 after interrogating him for several hours. The agency arrested Kazi on April 10, alleging that he was part of the larger conspiracy. A special NIA court rejected Kazi’s bail plea on March 1., 2022. (HT FILE PHOTO.)

‘Disclose whereabouts’: Supreme Court tells Param Bir Singh

Param Bir Singh was declared a proclaimed offender by a Mumbai court on Wednesday in an extortion case. The crime branch of Mumbai Police, which is probing the case, had sought the proclamation against Singh, saying that the IPS officer could not be traced.

Param Bir Singh, posted as DG (Home Guards), last attended his office in May.
