It was another heartache for PV Sindhu as she lost her second consecutive BWF World Championships final, this time to Carolina Marin of Spain. Sindhu started brightly and at one stage led by as many as 5 points in the first game. However Marin, who has won two titles at BWF Championships, upped her game to make a comeback and take the first game 21-19. It was all downhill for Sindhu in the second game as she never got going and lost the game 10-21. As it happened.
