Gotmar fair: Over 400 injured in annual stone pelting ritual in Madhya Pradesh

District Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman said on Tuesday that the Gotmar fair passed off peacefully this year and lesser people were injured when compared to previous year, adding that he had appealed to people to organise such events only in a symbolic manner.

Lockdown in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara after Covid-19 cases spike

Madhya Pradesh reported 4,043 fresh coronavirus positive cases on Wednesday, taking the tally of infections to 3,18,014, according to state health department's bulletin.

‘Angry’ over family feuds farmer wills part of his property to pet dog

Om Narayan Verma said, “I own around 21 acres of land. The notarised will not only includes my dog’s name but also my wife Champa Bai’s name.”. He further said the will was made in anger over a family feud, but the problems had been resolved now.

Madhya Pradesh redraws plan for 10 wildlife sanctuaries after MLAs, villagers object

According to the forest department, the state has six tiger reserves, 10 national parks and 25 wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh, which are poorly connected to each other resulting in increase in human-animal conflict.

17 arrested for killing tigers, using body parts for black magic

Claws and paws of two adult tigers, a cub, and leopard was recovered from them and they claim to have buried body parts of another tiger in Pench tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh, the MP forest department officials said.
