The six arrested Myanmaris were identified as Thin Thin Nwe, Ei Wai Wai OO, Myint Sandar Aung, Win L Win, Ye Htut, Zaw Win Maung. The police have also nabbed Mohd Abid, a resident of Daryaganj in Delhi.

The gold was smuggled by concealing it in an oven by the passenger who arrived in Hyderabad by an Oman Airlines flight from Dubai on Thursday, a DRI press release said.

Export of shark fins of all species is prohibited under law. The seized shark fins were meant for illicit export by misdeclaring them as dried ray skins, dried marine products and fish maw, among others, a DRI statement said.

Cannabis weighing 842 kg and worth Rs 1.26 crore was seized in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and two persons arrested in this connection. Based on intelligence that narcotics were being illegally transported, DRI sleuths intercepted a cargo vehicle on NH-16 in Vijayawada and seized the drugs.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recovered 24 pieces of ivory weighing 5.8 kg near Guwahati railway station. The ivory was supposed to be smuggled into Nepal, the agency said.
