Second body retrieved from Meghalaya coal mine; 5 spotted so far

Rescue workers from NDRF and Indian Navy retrieved a second body on Wednesday from the main shaft of the flooded coal mine at Khloo Ryngksan in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district, officials said.

Navy detects another body inside Meghalaya’s flooded coal mine

Naval divers detected the body of another miner early this morning at a depth of 280 feet inside a rat-hole in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district where over a dozen miners remain trapped since December 13.
