Himachal: 8 trainee doctors of Tanda medical college suspended for ragging juniors

The seniors had allegedly assigned some tasks to the junior trainees, in a bid to rag them, however, the latter had defied the orders. In retaliation, the senior trainee doctors allegedly stripped them naked. The incident had transpired last Sunday.

Dr Bhanu Awasthi, principal of Tanda Medical College, confirmed the developments and said that the culprits have been duly penalised. (HT File)

Red alert issued for 7 Himachal districts amid heavy rain

The districts where a red alert has been issued include: Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts where rain disrupted normal life. The India Meteorological department has also issued orange alerts for three districts in Himachal: Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur, and a yellow alert for the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district.

Seven more hospitals to get de-addiction services in Himachal’s Kangra dist

Deputy commissioner Nipun Jindal, while presiding over a meeting of district co-ordination committee under National Narco Co-ordination Portal (NCORD), said that services will be started in the hospitals at Dehra, Baijnath, Thural, Fatehpur, Jawali, Dadasiba and Jaisinghpur
