The veterinary department said so far around 11,000 samples of migratory birds in several waterbodies including Chilika Lake have been tested, but all the samples have been detected negative for the disease.

300 frontline workers in Odisha have tested positive for Covid-19 in last 3 months

Of the 300 who have tested positive, more than 200 are from the Covid-19 epicentre of Ganjam district where close to 1500 cases have been detected so far.

An inter-ministerial team from Centre headed by a joint secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs would start its assessment of damages to the coastal State from May 13.

Around 1.5 lakh kilometres of power lines were wrenched away by 250 kmph-strong winds on the morning of May 3. The gales caused extensive damage to the power infrastructure in Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Jajpur districts.
