Railways shares future look of Delhi station, Twitter says ‘silly aesthetics’

As per the proposed plan, the New Delhi railway station – with a grand, futuristic look – will have a 40-storey twin tower, multi-level car parking, pick up and drop zones. The entire station will be built on an area of about 2,22,000 square metres.

Cabinet nod sought for 4.5k cr NDLS revamp

The redevelopment of the country’s biggest railway station, which handles 450,000 passengers a day, involves the creation of state-of-the-art amenities for passengers, commercial spaces, a multilevel car park, banquets, a school, a hospital in partnership with the private sector.

Skywalk linking New Delhi railway station’s Ajmeri Gate, Metro station now open

The 242m-long skywalk will provide seamless connectivity to the Yellow Line and Airport Express Line. It will also be connected to the multilevel parking facility located across Bhavbhuti Marg.

Skywalk to link Ajmeri Gate side of NDLS with Delhi Metro stations

The skywalk, an extension of the foot-over bridge (FOB) inside the railway station, will connect NDLS’s Ajmeri gate side to the Delhi Metro. The project is in collaboration with the Northern Railways.

Agency approves traffic plans for Central Vista, New Delhi railway station

The two proposals were presented before the Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) on Friday.

A senior official aware of the development said the proposal concerning the Central Vista revamp involved the infrastructure upgrades on some major roads, including Rafi Marg, Rajendra Prasad Road, Maulana Azad Road, Janpath, Mansingh Road. (PTI)
