Uttar Pradesh government has refused sanction to prosecute Additional director general (ADG) Prem Prakash and deputy inspector general (DIG) Harish Kumar for their alleged role in the case wherein the Lucknow residence of Rita Bahuguna Joshi was set on fire.

Five people, including the manager of the Deoria shelter home, Girija Tripathi and her husband Mohan Tripathi, were arrested in late on Sunday night for allegedly forcing women inmates into flesh trade.
