ED files money laundering case against Karti Chidambaram

The case dates to events that allegedly took place between July and September 2011, when P Chidambaram was the union home minster in United Progressive Alliance’s second term. Visa clearances come under the purview of the ministry of home affairs.

Govt to refund 7,900 crore retro tax to Cairn; company to withdraw cases

Vedanta records Q2 net profit 4,615 cr; income soars to 31,074 cr

  • Earlier in 2020, Vedanta posted a consolidated net profit of 838 crore, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company said that its revenue for July-September 2021 stood at <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>30,048 crore, higher by seven per cent q-o-q, primarily supported by improved commodity prices, partially offset by lower sales volume at zinc and iron ore business.(HT File)

Vedanta to bring investments of up to $20 billion

Cairn Energy wins $1.2 billion from India in tax arbitration case

The tribunal ruled unanimously that India had breached its obligations to Cairn under the UK-India Bilateral Investment Treaty and awarded Cairn damages of $1.2 billion plus interest and costs, the company said in its statement.
