Assamese social media influencer Archita Phukan has said that a fake account was created to share her morphed pictures. Phukan's former partner, Pratim Bora, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Who is Pratim Bora?
Pratim Bora is a former partner of Archita Phukan. He allegedly uploaded the objectionable content to defame and harass the woman, a police officer said.
Bora was arrested in Assam's Dibrugarh on Saturday evening for allegedly creating a fake social media profile of influencer Archita Phukan and uploading her morphed photos.
The fake account showed Archita Phukan posing with US adult star Kendra Lust. Phukan said that her friends and acquaintances came across the morphed photos after the images were widely circulated on social media.
Bora, a resident of Tinsukia, was operating the fake profile for several weeks. He was arrested from his hometown following a complaint lodged by Phukan's brother, the officer said.

Voters could choose between Health, Elderly, Animal Welfare, and Children. More than 45,000 people voted in her Instagram poll, with 35% choosing ‘Children’ and 33% choosing ‘Animal Welfare’.
As a result, ‘Archita Phukan’ allegedly donated ₹45,000 to an animal welfare charity. She also gave ₹30,000 to an organisation that helps “bring children facing abuse in red-light areas to safety”.
“As per the voting results, donations have been successfully processed. It's your contribution. Cheers,” the page wrote while sharing screenshots confirming her donations.
