An Indian flight attendant travelling in Switzerland was left stunned after paying ₹940 for a small portion of fries, prompting her to compare the cost of everyday food in the European country with prices back home in India.

Madhuri Bhuvan Antil shared a video on Instagram documenting her reaction to the unexpectedly expensive snack and joked that visiting Switzerland might require earning a Swiss salary.
‘ ₹940 for this tiny portion of fries’
In the video, Antil said, "Guys, I’m in Switzerland right now. Do you know how much I paid for these fries? ₹940. Yes, ₹940 for this tiny portion of fries. I was genuinely shocked when I heard the price. This country is so expensive, I don’t even know what to say. In India, you could get a much bigger portion of fries for ₹200. You could even get momos for that price."
She went on to compare what the same amount of money could buy in India, saying the experience made her appreciate prices back home.

{{/usCountry}}"If you’re in India, you’re living like a king. For ₹940, you could easily get a decent pizza and so much more. Here, it really makes you realise that when you’re in your own country, you should enjoy that king-sized life. I mean, Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries in the world, and these prices really prove it. I’m still wondering who pays this much for fries. I’m definitely going to remember this," she added.
‘You need a Swiss salary’
Antil echoed the same sentiment in the caption accompanying the video, describing Switzerland as beautiful but extremely expensive.
"I’ve honestly never seen a country this expensive! Switzerland is beautiful, but the prices had me questioning my entire salary. Everything feels so expensive that I was like, ‘Man, you need a Swiss salary to afford a trip to Switzerland!’" she wrote.
