A Mumbai woman has shared her experience of being out in the city with a female friend in the early hours of the morning, saying she was struck by how safe and comfortable they felt despite being outside without any male companions.

Taking to Instagram, a woman named Nisha posted a video documenting the late-night outing as the two friends headed towards a beach at around 3:30 am. In the clip, she expressed her surprise at being able to move around the city freely at that hour without feeling uncomfortable or unsafe.

"It's 3:30 at night, actually, it's almost 4 am, and the two of us girls are just roaming around, heading to the beach. Bhai, I still can't believe that we're two girls out like this at 3:30 in the morning, with no guys accompanying us. It feels so safe. We even went to the beach, and there were only guys there, but no one cared that two girls had come there or bothered us in any way. I mean, literally, sometimes I feel like I shouldn't praise Mumbai so much because I don't want to jinx it. Yaar, Mumbai... I honestly have no words. I just love Mumbai," she said in the video.
