Corporate life, long working hours and the familiar 9-to-5 routine often attract criticism on social media, with employees frequently sharing their frustrations about work pressure, limited flexibility and burnout. However, a woman has offered a different perspective, arguing that while people do not necessarily have to love their jobs, constantly resenting them may not make sense when those same jobs are funding their lives.

In a video shared on Instagram, Disha Desai, who posts under the account @almostdailyyy, reflected on the widespread dislike of corporate life and admitted that she had also complained about it in the past. She said people who strongly dislike their 9-to-5 jobs ultimately have the responsibility to create an alternative for themselves.

‘It is upon us to build something else’

"I've seen so many people complain about corporate life, and honestly, I've been one of them too. But now I feel that if we hate our 9-to-5 so badly, then it is upon us to build something else and make it work. And until the time we do that, until the time we figure out another source of income, our office salary is what is paying for our rent, our vacations, our parties, our future investments, basically our entire lifestyles. So, we cannot be cribbing so much about corporate life all the time," Desai said in the clip.

Desai reinforced the same thought in the caption accompanying the video.

"We can’t force ourselves to love our jobs. But if our job is funding our life, we probably shouldn’t spend every day resenting it," the caption reads.

The post prompted a few reactions from users, many of whom agreed with Desai's practical take on corporate employment. One user wrote, "This is so true." Another commented, "This is actually a very practical way to look at a 9-to-5."

A third person added, "This is the reality check many people need." Echoing the sentiment, another user wrote, "Corporate life has problems, but financial stability matters too."
