Be it Shah Rukh Khan’s comment on intolerance or Naseeruddin Shah’s “mediocre actor” remark on late actor Rajesh Khanna, celebrities’ statements have a big impact. Due to her upfront attitude, Sandhya Mridul, too, feels she has been scrutinised.

“However, I have become more sensitive now. I am compassionate about the things I say. I am not honest for the sake of being blunt,” she says.

Sandhya is currently acting in a political-thriller TV show. At a time when supernatural shows dominate the small screen, ask her if she feels content-driven serials will fade away and she says, “I don’t believe that anything will go away. The balance can be restored. There are takers for content-driven shows. I, as an audience, would like to watch such shows. When my mum comes to town, I can’t spend time with her because of the kind of shows that she watches,” she says.
