Jalandhar boy Balraj Khera wins MTV Roadies show

He is confident, brave, dreams big and also toils to fulfil his dreams.

Jalandhar-based Balraj Singh Khehra was announced the winner of television reality show MTV Roadies X4 and wants to become an actor.

Even though the show’s grand finale was aired on Sunday, the shooting of the season ended about four months ago.

“I am a proud turbanator and the first Sikh youth to have won a season of Roadies,” Khera, who hails from Khadoor Sahib and has been living in Jalandhar since last six years, said.

Growing up in a small village, the 27-year-old always wanted to be an actor and to give wings to his dreams took part in Mr Punjab in 2014 to emerge as the runner-up. He then started auditioning for Punjabi films.

Khera started preparing physically and mentally for Roadies about a year before the auditions. He said that he won the 13th season of the show without any mind games or politics.

“I am a simple person and wanted to win the show with my honesty,” Khera, who was evicted from the show but later returned as a wild card entry, said.

A junior national championship winner in bodybuilding, he said he wanted everyone to know that belonging to a small village doesn’t matter and should not stop anyone from winning big.

Khera winner is a trained fitness instructor and wants youngsters to indulge in sports and physical activities. He has a team called Fitness Freaks that gives training to celebrities and businessmen.

‘Success hasn’t changed me’

The Roadies winner said that he owes his success to his teacher and coach Randhir Kumar, who encouraged him to join body building.

“Four months have passed since the shooting got over, things definitely have changed in my life but I have not changed. I am not someone who lets success gets to the mind,” Khera said.

Talking about his future plans, Balraj said, “I have a dream to see myself in a Bollywood movie. But I won’t be going to Mumbai to give auditions, if I get a good chance, I will definitely go and do the movie.”

He competed in the finale against his own team member Gaurav and Navdeesh from Prince Narula’s team.

The show was extensively shot in India and Bhutan and was judged by Rannvijay Singh, Kundra, Dhupia and Narula.
