We are at the lowest point of TV content: Ronit Roy

Udaan actor Ronit Roy doesn’t blame anyone for the low level of content on television. He hopes makers are able to break the vicious cycle and deliver better quality stories.

Ronit Roy has ruled television for nearly 15 years now. Ever since he played Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagi Kay in 2002, the actor has not looked back. However, Ronit says he is saddened by the current content on Indian television. In a recent interview, he expressed concern about shows on TV today and how much it hurts him.

“I have been on TV for the past two decades, and in this time, anyone in any line of work will expect some progressiveness. Somehow, we are going the opposite way. We are regressing. There are many reasons for that and it’s no one’s fault. It’s a vicious cycle, and there is no one to blame here. But we have to break the cycle sometime. We are at the low point of TV content right now. I think in the next year or so, we should be breaking out of the cycle, and we’ll see a lot of good work, quality and money like never before. I see a bigger, brighter and better future for TV.”

Ronit says, “It was during my children’s holidays, and I normally spend that time with them. I had already committed to this film, so we all went [to Georgia] together and had fun.”
