Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a landmark agreement to supply American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine via Greece’s port of Alexandroupolis, launching the “vertical corridor” pipeline network connecting Greece to Ukraine through Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova. Under the deal, Ukraine will receive its first gas deliveries in January 2026, targeting both immediate winter energy needs and long-term security as Russian strikes continue to cripple Ukrainian infrastructure.
