‘Protest all you want...’: Amit Shah challenges Congress, TMC over CAA
Updated on Mar 15, 2020 03:37 pm IST
Union Home Minister Amit Shah trained guns on various leaders of the Opposition over the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Shah was addressing an 'awareness' rally in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur when he challenged Indian National Congress' Rahul Gandhi and All India Trinamool Congress' Mamata Banerjee to point out the provisions in the Act which talk about revoking someone's citizenship. He claimed that CAA only talks about granting citizenship to certain refugees from three neighbouring nations. Critics of the new law have claimed that CAA, along with the National Register of Citizens exercise promised by the BJP, would render some members of communities like Muslim, stateless.
