Black Fungus: License to 5 manufacturers to ramp up Amphotericin B production

The Union Health Ministry said efforts are being made to ramp up production of Amphotericin-B, the key drug to treat Black Fungus or Mucormycosis. Amid the rising cases of Black Fungus, the health ministry said it is in touch with 5 additional manufacturers of the drug. "Amphotericin B was available in the country in limited supply. Its availability and supply is now being increased. Ministry of Pharma is coordinating with Ministry of Health for providing license to five additional manufacturers," Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry. Watch the full video for more.
