Nashik: 22 dead due to interrupted oxygen supply after tank leak at hospital

• At least 22 patients died due to interrupted supply of oxygen at a civic hospital for Covid-19 patients in Nashik in Maharashtra. Incident took place following a leakage from an oxygen storage plant, district collector Suraj Mandhare said. The leakage was reported from Nashik’s Zakir Hussain Hospital. This comes amid an acute shortage of oxygen in several states across the country. Officials present at the spot conducted an operation to contain the leakage. The leakage caused the gas to spread across the area outside the hospital. Maharashtra has been among the worst-hit states by novel coronavirus. Over 58,920 fresh cases and 351 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
