South Africa eyewitness on new Covid variant Omicron impact. Should India worry?

With the discovery of a new Covid-19 variant in South Africa, the world is seeing a fresh wave of alarm and frenetic activity to prevent fresh surges of infection. South African journalist, Peter van Onselen of eNCA, describes the situation in the country in a conversation with Aditi Prasad, senior editor, Hindustan Times. van Onselen says that cases are rising, but they are still much less compared to countries like the United Kingdom.
