Bappi Lahiri, Bollywood’s Disco King, no more; PM Modi, Akshay Kumar mourn loss

Veteran Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri, 69, passed away in a Mumbai hospital, as per reports. The musician died following multiple health issues at the CritiCare Hospital in Juhu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his Condolences to Bappi Lahiri’s family and admirers. Fondly known as Bappi da, he popularised disco music in India in the 80s and 90s. He has composed songs for movies such as Disco Dancer, Himmatwala, Sharaabi among others. Bappi da was known for his hit numbers as he was for his fascination for gold. In the last decade, he sang songs such as Ooh La La for The Dirty Picture, Tune Maari Entriyaan for Gunday & more. Watch the full video for more.
