Lata Mangeshkar no more; India's Nightingale leaves behind rich musical legacy

The Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on February 6, 2022. The veteran singer passed away after suffering a multi organ failure last night. The 92-year-old was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital as a covid patient. The CEO of the hospital said covid was treated but she passed away due to post covid complications. She started her career at the age of 13 in 1942 and has sung over 25,000 songs. Lata Mangeshkar's last complete album was for 2004 Bollywood release Veer-Zaara. Hailed as Indian cinema's iconic singer, she received Bharat ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in 2001. She has also been conferred the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan & Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Watch the full video for more.
